NEW: Sim to Sandschool

Take what you learn on the simulator straight into the saddle.

Sim to Sandschool combines focused rider training on our equine simulator with the opportunity to put what you have learned into practice immediately on your own horse.

Bring your horse to Equisim, spend 30 minutes working on the simulator, then head straight into the arena to work on your findings.

How Sim to Sandschool Works

Sometimes it can be difficult to concentrate on your own position, balance and movement while also thinking about your horse.

The equine simulator gives you the chance to focus completely on your riding. We can look closely at your position, identify areas that may be affecting your riding and work on small adjustments in a controlled environment.

You can then get straight back onto your own horse and put those changes into practice.

What Happens During Your Session?

Every rider is different, so sessions are tailored around you and your riding.

Depending on what we identify during your simulator session, we may look at:

  • Rider position and alignment

  • Balance and stability

  • Symmetry in the saddle

  • Body awareness

  • Effectiveness of your aids

  • Areas of tension or restriction

  • Developing a more consistent riding position

Private and Shared Sessions

Sim to Sandschool is available as both private and shared sessions.

Whether you want focused one-to-one help or would prefer to attend with another rider, the session gives you dedicated time to understand your riding away from your horse before putting your findings into practice.

Bring Your Horse to Equisim

Sim to Sandschool sessions take place at Equisim in Farnham, Surrey.

Bring your horse with you and we will begin with your simulator session before moving into the arena.

This means you can go directly from working on your riding position on the simulator to applying those changes with the horse you know best.

From Simulator to Horse

The real benefit of Sim to Sandschool is being able to apply what you have learned straight away.

Your simulator session can help identify areas such as your balance, symmetry, position and use of your body. Moving directly into the arena allows you to feel how those changes affect your riding and your horse.

Rather than leaving with something to practise another day, you have the opportunity to work on it while everything from the simulator session is still fresh in your mind.

Who Is Sim to Sandschool For?

Sim to Sandschool can benefit riders at different levels who want to understand more about how their own position and movement influence their riding.

You do not need to have a particular problem to benefit from a session. It can be useful if you want to improve your position, become more aware of your body in the saddle or explore an area of your riding that you have been struggling with.

Most importantly, you can then see how the work you do on the simulator translates to riding your own horse.
